Hyderabad: Left parties and AIMIM have congratulated the farmers across the country following the Central government’s decision to withdraw the farm laws. CPI National Secretary K Narayana welcomed the BJP government’s decision to withdraw the three farms laws and congratulated them for their success in making the Centre heed to their demands.
Calling it a huge victory to the farmers’ movement, he said the Centre had tried every trick to suppress the movement but all such attempts were failed. He urged the Centre to announce Rs 50 lakh compensation to farmers, who lost their lives during the movement. “This would help the BJP government to cleanse its sins,” said Narayana. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi tweeted, “Farm laws were unconstitutional from start. Government’s ego forced farmers to hit the streets. Congrats to Kisan andolan. Modi had seen the writing on the wall in UP and Punjab, was left with no choice.”
He further added “Impending elections and protest movements can force Prime Minister of India to rethink. He’s never beaten a peoples’ movement, just managed to harass. Anti-CAA movement ensured that talks of national NRC were shelved; CAA rules yet to be made. Farmers movement succeeded due to their persistence,”
All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee, Telangana unit also appreciated the Central government’s move to repeal farm laws and demanded the Centre to address the other issues, including the Minimum Support Price Act.
