Rajanna-Sircilla: Police have summoned a farmer, who in a viral video announced that he was beating himself with his chappal for voting the Congress party to power. He now faces a police case at Yellareddypet police station.

The farmer, identified as Manuka Laxman, was seen holding his footwear in his hand and claiming that he was hitting himself with it as an act of penance for electing the Congress. He was venting his anger against the government for failing to supply urea on time to the farming community. He held Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy responsible for pushing the agriculture sector into crisis.

Stating that farmers never faced urea shortages during the previous BRS government, he predicted that K Chandrashekhar Rao would return to power in the next elections. Based on a complaint lodged by Congress leaders, police registered a case against Laxman. On Friday, police went to his house and summoned him to appear at the station.
