Farmer, daughter killed in lightning strike in Khammam
The farmer and his family members were picking cotton in their agriculture field and a heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning occurred in the area.
Khammam: A farmer and his daughter were killed when they were struck by lightning at Adavi Maddulapalli village of Kamepalli mandal in the district on Tuesday.
According to police, the farmer and his family members were picking cotton in their agriculture field and a heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning occurred in the area. The farmer Ch Lingaswamy (44) and his daughter Kaveri (21) died on the spot.
The farmers’ wife who suffered injuries in the incident was shifted to the hospital by locals. A pall of gloom descended on the village with the death of the farmer and his daughter.
The local police visited the spot, registered a case in connection with the incident and shifted the bodies to Government General Hospital in Khammam for post-mortem.
