Jangaon: The alleged negligence of TGNPDCL staff cost the life of a farmer in the district as the farmer was electrocuted while fixing a transformer.
The farmer, Pendyala Bhikshapathi (39) of Uppugal village of Jafargadh mandal in the district had gone to his field to irrigate his crops. During this time, he noticed that the transformer fuse wire had burned out and informed the junior lineman (JLM) Srinivas. The JLM told the farmer that he had informed the lineman, obtained a line clearance and told the farmer to replace the fuse wire himself. But the lineman Kumaraswamy switched on the power supply without informing the JLM while the farmer was still fixing the fuse wire.
As a result, the farmer collapsed due to a severe electric shock. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead after conducting tests.
