Farmer electrocuted in Adilabad

Utnoor police said the deceased was Darshani Poshanna, a dalit farmer from Shampur village

Adilabad: A tribal farmer was electrocuted when he accidentally came in contact with a live wire at Shampur village in Utnoor mandal on Wednesday.

Utnoor police said the deceased was Darshani Poshanna, a dalit farmer from Shampur village.


Poshanna was electrocuted when he was watering his paddy crop on Tuesday evening. He is suspected to have come into contact with a live wire. His wife grew suspicious when he did not return home till late in the night. She found his body in their agriculture field and informed police about the incident.

The farmer is survived by a wife, two daughters and a son. His son lodged a complaint and a case was registered. Investigations are underway.
