Nirmal: In a tragic incident, a farmer and his son were electrocuted when they accidentally came in contact with an electric fence they had set around their standing soya bean crop to prevent wild animals from damaging the crops at Bhosi village in Thanoor mandal of Nirmal district on Wednesday

Thanoor Sub-Inspector G Rajanna said the deceased were identified as Karjala Ramulu (55) and his son Murali (27), residents of Bhosi village.

Ramulu and Murali died on the spot when they touched the electrified fence while entering their agriculture field at around 7 am. Ramulu’s wife Shyamala sent their worker Sai to the field when the two did not return home till afternoon. Sai noticed the two bodies and alerted her who in turn informed the police.

Sub-Inspector and Thanoor Tahsildar Shyamsundar visited the spot and inquired about the reasons for the accident.

Ramulu has a wife, two sons and a daughter.

Based on a complaint lodged by the family, a case was registered and investigations are on.
