KARIMNAGAR: Farmers staged a rasta roko at Nustulapur in Thimmapur mandal on Tuesday, demanding the State government ensure adequate supply of urea.

Vehicular traffic on Rajiv Rahadari came to a halt for nearly half an hour as farmers sat on the road, raising slogans against the government.

Addressing the protest, they said ryots were facing severe difficulties due to lack of fertiliser at societies. They warned that the agitation would be intensified if the government failed to resolve the shortage immediately.

On learning of the protest, police reached the spot and persuaded the farmers to withdraw the blockade.
