Farmers, BRS activists taken into preventive custody in erstwhile Karimnagar
BRS decided to back the farmers' unions' call to lay siege to Praja Bhavan, demanding an unconditional crop loan waiver. However, the police intervened, taking the protesters into preventive custody and transporting them to local police stations.
Karimnagar: Several farmers along with BRS leaders and activists were taken into preventive custody by the police across the erstwhile Karimnagar district preventing them from going to Hyderabad for the Chalo Praja Bhavan protest.
BRS had decided to support the call of farmers’ unions to lay siege to Praja Bhavan demanding the crop loan waiver without any conditions.
However, police took them into preventive custody and shifted them to local police stations.
In Jagtial district, Kathalapur former market committee chairman Vardineni Nageshwar Rao, BRS leaders Kalleda Shankar, Rikkal Sanjeev Reddy, Thirupathi Reddy and others were arrested and shifted to Kathalapur police station.
Mallapur police arrested Kommula Jeevan Reddy, Dabba Ramesh Reddy, Mucharla Srinivas and others. Medipalli former MPTC Makili Dasu, Deshaveni Krishna, former co-option member Hammad and others were taken into custody by Medipally police.
