Khammam: Giving an artistic touch to Rythu Bandhu celebrations, farmers created a portrait of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on 1,000 sqyd with agricultural produce. A group of farmers with the assistance of a couple of artists spent around 24 hours creating the massive portrait with maize, black gram, cotton and chilli in Khammam Agriculture Market on Thursday.
Similarly celebrations were going on at villages across the district showing admiration to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in various ways such as ‘Pushbabishekam’ and ‘Palabhishekam’ to the portrait of the Chief Minister for the past few days.
Khammam Agriculture Market Committee Chairperson D Lakshmi Prasanna, SUDA Chairman Bachu Vijay Kumar, TRS district party office in-charge Gundala Krishna and others joined the celebrations at the market. Speaking on the occasion the leaders noted that the farming community in the State was greatly indebted to the Chief Minister for introducing pro-farmer measures such as Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, 24 hours free power supply for agriculture needs.
Meanwhile, District Agriculture Officer M Vijaya Nirmala said that as of Wednesday, an amount of Rs 276.99 crore has been credited into the accounts of 2, 92, 174 farmers of the total amount of Rs 362.84 crore sanctioned for 3, 16, 422 farmers in the district.
