Medak: Hours after rains lashed erstwhile Medak district, farmers took to streets holding the Congress government responsible for the damage done to their paddy harvest.
The farmers of Thatha Papanpally, Nagulapally and other villagers in Toopran mandal staged a rasta-roko protesting over the delay in procurement of the paddy.
The farmers accused the Congress of doing a great injustice to the farmers by delaying the procurement. They demanded the government to send the lorries to lift the leftover paddy in the procurement centres.
When the local police tried to convince the farmers withdraw the protest, the farmers picked up an argument with the police. Simiarily, the farmers have also staged protests at several places in the district.
