Farmers of Ramoji Thanda stage protest demanding water release
More than 2,900 acres of paddy crops in the region are wilting shortly after transplantation. Farmers are calling on irrigation authorities to clarify if water will be supplied for the Rabi season, enabling others to make informed decisions about whether to proceed with sowing.

Suryapet: Farmers in Ramoji Thanda village near Suryapet staged a protest on Wednesday demanding the release of water for their crops from the Sriramsagar Project (SRSP) Stage II.
Over 2,900 acres of paddy crops in the area are drying up immediately after transplantation. The farmers are urging the irrigation authorities to clarify whether water will be provided for the Rabi season or not, so that other farmers can decide whether to proceed with sowing.
This is the second time in less than a fortnight that the farmers have staged a dharna, protesting the scarcity conditions. They are concerned about the lack of water and the impact it will have on the standing crops . The farmers are calling for immediate action to ensure the survival of their crops and to prevent further losses
