Karimnagar: Farmers of Kandugula in Huzurabad mandal on Saturday pledged their complete support to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the Huzurabad bypolls. A total of 750 farmers from the village organised ‘KCR Support Meet’ which was attended by Husnabad MLA V Sathish Kumar, Telangana State Cooperative Apex Bank Chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Sathish Kumar said that before formation of Telangana, farmers were scared to practice agriculture. However, the Chief Minister made agriculture as a profitable profession by addressing the challenges faced by farmers in a phased manner. “While farmers faced severe power shortage to cultivate their crops earlier, the government has been providing uninterrupted and free power to agricultural fields within a short period after the State formation. Similarly, water is flowing in Kakatiya Canal throughout the year with irrigation projects such as Mid Manair reservoir and Lower Manair Dam filled by completing the prestigious Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project. Moreover, there was no shortage for seed and fertilisers,” he said.

On the other hand, Rythu Bandhu is being directly deposited in bank accounts of farmers without any delay and Rs 5 lakh insurance cover is also being provided to the kin of the deceased farmers. The MLA stated that despite Covid pandemic, the government procured entire paddy crop produced by the farmers in the State. Besides protecting farmers’ lands through Dharani portal, new pattadar passbooks were also issued, he added.

Stating that the Chief Minister created green revolution in the State, Sathish Kumar made it clear that no other State in the country was implementing farmers’ welfare schemes, which has been implemented in Telangana.

Ravinder Rao said the Chief Minister was giving top priority to farmers since 70 percent people were depended on agriculture sector in rural areas. He advised farmers to develop knowledge on modern and organic farming methods. He informed that NABARD has sanctioned Rs 50 lakh with 35 percent to subsidy to establish seed plant in Kandugula village.

Warangal Cooperative Bank Chairman Manneni Ravinder Rao, Sarpanch Padidam Prabavathi, MPTC Kasam Padma, Elkathurthi MPP Sapna and others participated in the programme.
