Farmers stage protests over unscheduled power cuts in Siddipet

Farmers across Siddipet constituency staged protests on Saturday against unscheduled power cuts and poor-quality supply. Demonstrations included rasta roko blockades and locking up a sub-station operator, with villagers demanding uninterrupted 24-hour power for agriculture.

Siddipet: Farmers have staged multiple protests across Siddipet constituency over the unscheduled power cuts and supply of poor quality power on Saturday. 

Farmers from multiple villages in Nanganur mandal arrived at Kondamrajpally sub-station and staged a protest. When they called the respective AE and informed him that they wanted to present a representation on the issue, the farmers alleged that the AE intentionally delayed coming to the sub-station, prompting them to lock the operator in a room.

However, the farmers presented a representation to the line inspector who arrived at the place immediately. The farmers of Jakkapur and neighbouring villages staged a rasta-roko while Lakshmidevipally villagers in Narayanraopet mandal also staged a protest. 

The farmers of Chinna Kodur mandal blocked Rajiv Rahadari, protesting over the Congress government’s failure in supplying 24-hour power to the farming sector. 

Similar protests were organised at multiple places in the constituency.
