Fatal crash near Bongulur exit on ORR claims five lives, truck driver absconding

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, five people died after the car they were travelling in rammed into a truck from behind on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Adibatla on Friday morning.
The victims were identified as G Janardhan (45) from Mahabubabad, M Chandu Lal (29) from Warangal, K Balaraju (40) from Moinabad, D Bhaskar Rao (39) from Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh and J Krishna (25), a car driver from Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m., when the car was proceeding from Pedda Amberpet towards Bongulur. When the vehicle approached pillar no.108 on the ORR near the Bongulur exit, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed it into the truck ahead.
While Janardhan, Chandu Lal and Balaraju died on the spot, Bhaskar Rao, who suffered grievous injuries, was declared dead at the hospital. Krishna, the second person who also sustained critical injuries in the incident, succumbed while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in BN Reddy Nagar.
Upon receiving information, the Adibatla police and Ibrahimpatnam police reached the spot and with great difficulty, pulled out the bodies that were trapped in the badly damaged car.
The Adibatla police are investigating the incident. The authorities have seized the truck involved in the ghastly accident and efforts are being made to nab the absconding truck driver.
