Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has engaged all its resources to contain the spread of Covid-19 virus and help the needy amid lockdown imposed to control the second wave of pandemic. The first round of fever survey was completed on Friday with the municipal corporation covering over 17.14 lakh households in the GHMC limits. The second round will start from Saturday, said a GHMC official.
Teams comprising field-level workers from the GHMC and Health Department who are engaged in the survey also referred over 2.85 lakh persons to Basthi Dawakhanas and Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs) for undergoing Covid tests.
Meanwhile, free food was being supplied to the needy through Annapurna canteens. On Friday, 62,835 hot and hygienic meals were served to the poor and needy across the city for free.
