Hyderabad: When his entire family tested positive for coronavirus, 59-year-old IGNOU regional director Dr P Sivaswaroop didn’t lose confidence. Keeping himself away from WhatsApp and other social media content, he judiciously followed the doctor’s advice to beat Covid in seven days.

“Some content can be misleading at times, thus creating panic. The negativity too takes a heavy toll on mental health. My mantra to beat the Covid was to follow the advice of my physician. There is so much content being circulated on WhatsApp and some of it may not be true also. Keeping away from social media also aids better mental health in times like these. Several people had been infected with the virus in our apartment and all have recovered from taking treatment at home. However, people are so frightened that they don’t even wish to speak on it,” says Dr P Sivaswaroop.

The IGNOU regional director felt that it was because of early diagnosis that he along with his wife and daughter could beat Covid. “Physician consultation through online and dutifully following the standard prescriptions helped our family win over coronavirus,” Dr Sivaswaroop adds.
