Rythu Sambaralu in Mahabubabad: Minister Satyavathi Rathod and others participate in the celebrations on Friday
Mahabubabad: The financial assistance being given to ryots under Rythu Bandhu has touched Rs 202 crore from Rs 125 crore in Mahabuabad district, said Tribal Welfare Minister Satayavathi Rathod. “The TRS government is a pro-farmers’ administration,” she said.
As part of the Rythu Bandu Sambaralu conducted at the ‘Rythu Vedika’ by the Agriculture department here on Friday, she along with District Collector K Shashanka and others cut a cake besides felicitating two farmers.
Pamphlets on Rythu Bandhu scheme were also distributed to farmers on the occasion. “The credit for implementing Rythu Bandhu scheme goes only to Telangana State government as no other government is implementing such a scheme. Despite financial crisis due to Covid-19 conditions, the TRS government has been implementing the scheme for the benefit of farmers for eight crops seasons in a row,” she added.
She appealed to farmers to go for alternative crops instead of paddy and cooperate with the government. District Collector Shashanka said only Telangana government was transferring the money directly to the bank accounts of farmers under the scheme. A total of 82 Rythu Vedikas have been constructed in the district, he said, adding: “Since our lands and geographical conditions are suitable for cultivation of oil palm, we are encouraging farmers to take up oil palm cultivation which is also very profitable venture.”
MLC Takkallapally Ravinder Rao, MLA Banoth Shankar Naik, Z and others attended the celebrations.
