Hyderabad: Just four days ahead of its much-awaited release, Pawan Kalyan’s period action drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu finds itself caught in a financial row that could pose challenges for its smooth theatrical rollout in the Nizam region.
While the film has generated massive excitement among fans across the country, its producer AM Rathnam now faces pressure from two distribution firms seeking recovery of long-pending dues related to older projects. Asian Enterprises has approached the Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce, claiming a refundable advance of Rs 2.60 crore, reportedly given for the film Oxygen. In a separate complaint, Mahalaxmi Films has sought repayment of Rs 90 lakh, citing past collaborations on Muddula Koduku and Bangaram.
These matters, though not new, have surfaced formally just days before the grand premiere of HHVM. The timing of these complaints; coming right when the release is locked and promotional momentum is high, has raised eyebrows within industry circles. While the issues seem to trace back years, it is only now that formal complaints have reached the chamber, hinting at how financial disputes often stay under the radar until major projects near release.
The film chamber has advised HHVM’s distributors to cooperate and extend support in settling the matter, ensuring the recovery process doesn’t derail the film’s release plans. All eyes are now on how AM Rathnam will address these issues at such short notice.
Hari Hara Veera Mallu, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and starring Pawan Kalyan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Bobby Deol, is slated for release on July 24.
