Fire at Manikonda apartment sparks panic; three injured

A fire at BRC Apartments in Manikonda on Sunday caused panic among residents. Believed to have started due to a short circuit, the fire was quickly controlled. Three people were injured while rushing out of the building

Hyderabad: Fire broke out at an apartment building at Manikonda on Sunday afternoon, creating panic among the residents.

The incident took place at BRC Apartments following a suspected short circuit in the building wiring. On noticing the smoke and fire, the occupants of the building rushed downstairs, fearing for their lives.

On information, four fire tenders from nearby fire stations rushed to the spot. The power supply to the building was temporarily disconnected by the power department and the local police for safety reasons.

The firemen later controlled the fire. Three people suffered minor injuries when they fell down while rushing out of the building. An investigation is going on.
