Fire breaks out at shops near Charminar, no casualties reported

Hyderabad: A fire broke out at the A1 Sweet Shop and S K Optical Shop located opposite the Clock Tower at Murgi Chowk near Charminar on Friday afternoon. No casualties were reported.

Locals immediately alerted the fire department, following which firefighters from Moghalpura and Chandulal Baradari fire stations rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control.

Officials said though no casualties occurred, property was damaged in the incident.

Preliminary investigation suggested that a short circuit might have triggered the blaze.

Police have launched an investigation.
