Fire breaks out at Vijaya Shopping Mall in Jangaon

Reports indicate that locals saw flames coming from the mall and immediately notified the police and fire department. Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene, working to control the blaze, which had also spread to nearby shops.

Jangaon: A major fire broke out in Vijaya shopping mall located in Jangaon town in the wee hours of Sunday.

According to reports, locals noticed fire coming out of the mall and promptly alerted the police and fire department. Fire brigade were rushed to the spot and efforts were made to douse the fire. The fire also extended to neighbouring shops.


The fire officials claimed that the incident was caused by an electrical short circuit, leading to a rapid spread of flames. Officials estimate that property damage of more than Rs.10 crore has been caused due to the accident. The police have registered a case and are investigating from all angles.
