Hyderabad: A major fire broke out in the Union Bank of India branch at Park Lane in Secunderabad on Wednesday afternoon. No casualties were reported, police said. Officials suspect a short circuit led to the fire.
The staff, who noticed the fire and smoke, rushed out and alerted the Fire department and police. It took four fire engines and nearly 20 fire and police personnel to douse the fire. Officials said some files, computers and other electronic items were damaged in the incident.
The police are investigating. The incident led to a traffic jam in the CTC, Paradise areas.
