Fire breaks out in Bhadrachalam warehouse, vehicles gutted, locals demand action
A warehouse fire in Bhadrachalam’s old vegetable market gutted vehicles and triggered panic on Thursday. Firefighters contained the blaze before it spread to nearby shops. Locals blamed a contractor for illegally storing hazardous chemicals in the densely populated area.

Kothagudem: A massive fire broke out at a warehouse at the old vegetable market area in Bhadrachalam here on Thursday.
According to the locals, a loud sound an explosion was heard prior to the breaking out of fire during early hours. It was said that a contractor had kept bleaching powder bags and acid bottles in the room. It was suspected that the room exploded due to lack of ventilation for many days.
As soon as the information was received, the fire officer Srinivas and his team rushed to the spot and brought the fire into control before it could spread to the surrounding areas. Otherwise, there would have been major damage to the shops nearby.
Some vehicles near the warehouse caught fire and were gutted. The firefighters were able to reach the spot quickly as it was close to the fire station. The locals demanded action against the contractor who kept the material in a densely populated area without any permission.
