Fire breaks out in Neredmet house, elderly man dies of asphyxiation

An elderly man died in a house fire at Vayupuri Colony, Neredmet, Hyderabad, on Sunday night. Police suspect a short circuit triggered the blaze. The victim, 79-year-old Jayaprakash Ramanna, died of asphyxiation despite being rushed to a private hospital.

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, an elderly man allegedly died of asphyxiation after a fire broke out in his house at Neredmet on Sunday night.

As per available information, the incident occurred in Villa No.134 at Vayupuri Colony allegedly due to a short circuit.

Thick smoke quickly engulfed the entire house, causing the home owner, Jayaprakash Ramanna (79), to fall unconscious.

Locals rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.

The Neredmet police have registered a case and taken up investigation.
