Fire breaks out in Rikabgunj market near Charminar, panic grips area
A fire broke out in a cellar of a multi-storey building in Rikabgunj near Charminar, Hyderabad, causing brief panic on Sunday evening. Firefighters quickly doused the flames. Waste cardboard is suspected, and the cause is under investigation.
Hyderabad: Panic gripped the Rikabgunj commercial market for a while on Sunday when fire broke out in the evening.
The fire started in the cellar of a multi-storied building located at the Rikabgunj near Charminar. On noticing the smoke and fire, the local people alerted the fire department. Two fire tenders from High Court and Moghalpura fire station reached the spot and doused the flames.
The official stated that waste cardboard boxes kept in the cellar caught fire. The cause of the fire is being ascertained.
