Fire guts private school in Sangareddy; election holiday averts tragedy

Sangareddy: A holiday declared for the municipal elections proved to be a lifesaver for hundreds of students of Sradha Private School located at Pothireddypally junction in Sangareddy municipality, as the school building was gutted in a fire accident on Wednesday.
Smoke was noticed emanating from the school around 10.30 am, following which the watchman alerted the management, who immediately informed the Fire Department. Multiple fire tenders were rushed to the spot and efforts were under way to douse the flames.
Firefighters worked to prevent the blaze from spreading to adjacent structures in the densely populated area. Further details were awaited.
