Fire safety compliance stressed at Telangana schools, colleges

Telangana Fire Services Director General Vikram Singh Mann held an interaction with educational institutions to raise awareness about fire safety requirements and Fire NOC procedures. Representatives from schools and junior colleges discussed compliance, safety measures and implementation requirements for educational buildings.

Hyderabad: Director General, Telangana Fire Services, Vikram Singh Mann, on Tuesday held an interaction with the objective of creating awareness among educational institutions and other stakeholders regarding fire safety requirements and the procedures for obtaining Fire No Objection Certificates (Fire NOCs).

During the meeting, he emphasised the need for educational institutions to strictly comply with the prescribed fire safety standards and ensure the availability and proper functioning of essential fire prevention, protection and life-safety measures.

The Director General highlighted that effective fire safety arrangements in educational institutions are essential to safeguard the lives of students, teaching and non-teaching staff, and other occupants.

Around 30 representatives from various schools and Intermediate junior colleges’ educational institutions’ associations participated in the workshop. The interactive session provided an opportunity for the representatives to seek clarifications and discuss issues relating to Fire NOC procedures, fire safety compliance, and implementation of prescribed safety measures in educational buildings.
