The animal sacrifice videos at Chinna Metpalli village, Jagtial district and near Bodrai, Khila Warangal, were circulating on social media.

Responding to these videos, PETA, India with the intervention of former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi and in coordination with Kotala Sri Vidhya, Cruelty Prevention Assistant at Stray Animal Foundation of India (SAFI) Hyderabad, facilitated registration of two FIRs at Korutla Police Station in Jagtial and AJ Mills Colony Police Station in Warangal.

The Korutla Police registered FIR against Neelam Rakesh, under Sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Telangana Animals and Birds Sacrifices Prohibition (TABSP) Act while the other FIR was registered by the AJ Mills Colony Police against an unknown individual.
