First look of “Draupathi 2” released
Draupathi 2, starring Richard Rishi and directed by Mohan G, explores the 14th-century rule of Hoysala emperor Veera Vallalar III. A Tamil-Telugu historical action drama, it is set for release this year.

Hyderabad: The makers of Draupathi 2 unveiled the film’s first look poster on the occasion of Vinayaka Chavithi, setting the stage for its theatrical release later this year in both Tamil and Telugu.
The film, directed by Mohan G and produced by Netaji Productions in association with Chola Chakravarthy and G M Film Corporation, marks the sequel to the 2020 Tamil film Draupathi. Actor Richard Rishi returns in the lead role.
Set in the 14th century, the story explores the reign of Hoysala emperor Veera Vallalar III, with Thiruvannamalai as his capital, and the courage of the Kadavarayas of Sendhamangalam during the Mughal invasion of Tamil Nadu. The narrative also connects with the events of the first film, continuing the franchise’s storyline.
A large portion of the film was shot in Mumbai, with additional schedules in Senji, Thiruvannamalai, and Kerala. Rakshana Indusudan plays the female lead, while the supporting cast includes Natti Natraj, Y G Mahendran, Nadodigal Barani, Saravana Subbiah, Vel Ramamoorthy, Divi, Devayani Sharma, and others.
The technical team comprises composer Mohan G Ghibran, cinematographer Philip R Sundar, editor Devaraj, and art director Kamalnathan. Choreography is by Thanika Tony, with stunt sequences designed by Action Santosh. Dialogues are penned by Padma Chandrasekhar.
With its historical setting, ensemble cast, and large-scale production, Draupathi 2 is positioned as a major bilingual release.
