Hyderabad: The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) on Thursday issued a common almanac for the undergraduate courses for the academic year 2021-22 with first semester classes commencing from September 1.
The common almanac was approved during a meeting convened by the TSCHE and the Commissionerate of Collegiate with Vice-Chancellors of Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Telangana University, Palamuru University and Mahatma Gandhi University here on Thursday.
As per the almanac, which is applicable to six conventional universities participating in the undergraduate admissions through the Degree Online Services, Telangana (DOST) 2021, students of the first semester will have short vacation from October 9 to 17 with classwork resuming from October 18.
The first internal assessment test will be held from November 10 to 12 and the second from December 21 to 23. The last day of instruction in the first semester is January 12, 2022.
Students will have preparation holidays and practical examinations from January 13 to 23, 2022, and the first semester examinations are scheduled to be held from January 24 to February 16, 2022.
Similarly, classwork for the second semester will begin from February 17, 2022, with the first and second internal assessment tests are scheduled to be conducted from April 6 to 8, 2022, and May 11 to 13, 2022, respectively.
The last day of instruction is June 8 and students will have preparation holidays and practical examinations from June 9 to 16, 2022. The second semester exams will be conducted from June 17 to July 8, followed by vacation from July 9 to August 11. Colleges will reopen from August 12.
During the meeting, it was decided to introduce BA Honours as a pilot project in four constituent colleges of Osmania University and Kakatiya University besides in government degree colleges.
Further, THE authorities decided that degree colleges with zero admissions for two consecutive years will not be allowed to upload their college details on the DOST website.
TSCHE Chairman Prof T Papi Reddy, Commissioner of Collegiate Education, Navin Mittal, TSCHE Vice-Chairman-I Prof R Limbadri, TSCHE Vice-Chairman-II Prof V Venkata Ramana, TSCHE Secretary Dr Srinivasa Rao among others participated in the meeting.
