Five arrested for robbing Rs 25 lakh during USDT cryptocurrency deal in Hyderabad

The Nampally police arrested five persons for allegedly robbing Rs 25 lakh during a proposed USDT cryptocurrency transaction in Hyderabad. The accused reportedly attacked the victims using pepper spray before escaping with the cash.

Hyderabad: The Nampally police on Friday arrested five persons in connection with the robbery of Rs 25 lakh in cash during a proposed USDT cryptocurrency transaction.

On October 11, the arrested suspects, identified as Syed Ajaz, Syed Zakariya Ahmed, Sumair Khan, G Vijesh Kumar and Mohd Faraz Hussain allegedly used pepper spray and attacked the victims before fleeing with the cash.

Police recovered Rs 11.5 lakh in cash and three mobile phones from them.

Three other suspects, including Hameed alias SD Baba and Faisal, are absconding. Further investigation is on.
