Five arrested in temple theft case, Rs 26 lakh property recovered
KPHB police arrested five members of an interstate gang involved in temple thefts and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 26 lakh. The arrests are linked to a recent theft at the Venkateshwara Swamy Temple in KPHB Colony. Two suspects remain absconding.

Hyderabad: The KPHB police on Wednesday arrested five members of a notorious interstate gang involved in thefts at temples. The police recovered property worth Rs 26 lakh from them.
The arrested are Maharaju Mallikarjun, D Pawan Kalyan, D Anil Teja, Kambapu Vijay and Thangia Manikanta Durga Prasad, while two other gang members, Neeliah and Mohith Kumar, are absconding.
The gang was arrested for their involvement in the theft at the Venkateshwara Swamy Temple, Sardarnagar, KPHB colony, reported early this month, said E Ravikiran Reddy, ACP KPHB.
The police recovered gold and silver ornaments stolen from the temple and idols, all valued at Rs 26 lakhs.
