Nizamabad: Five children have gone missing from Kamareddy in the last two days, triggering panic among residents. On Friday, two children went missing and on Saturday three more children aged below 10 years were reported missing.

On Friday, Simhadri, aged 10 years, and Vijay, aged about nine years, both residents of Gosangi Colony, went missing. Even as residents expressed concern over the whereabouts of the two children, three sisters, including Sipaat aged eight, Ayath aged seven and Mariam aged five years, went missing from RB Colony in the town, according to reports.

The worried parents lodged complaints with the police and appealed to them to trace their children. Three special teams have been formed under Additional SP Chaitanya Reddy, Kamareddy CI Narahari and Kamareddy Rural CI Raman.

Based on surveillance camera footage, the teams have begun an investigation. Police appealed to the public to share information if they come across anything suspicious, the reports said.
