Five CRPF personnel injured in IED blast in Chhattisgarh

Kothagudem: Five CRPF personnel were injured when an IED planted by Maoists exploded under Tarrem police station limits in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh State on Sunday.
Bijapur additional Superintendent of Police Chandrakanth Governa told the media that a team of CPRF 153 Bn of Chinnagelur camp was engaged in demining duty. The team detected an IED and was defusing it during which it exploded.
Assistant commandant Saketh, inspector Sanjay and three head constables sustained minor injuries due to the blast. The injured personnel were taken to the district headquarters for proper treatment after first aid and they were out of danger, he said.
