Five held for organising online betting in Asifabad
Five persons were arrested in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district for allegedly organising banned online betting near Ainam village in Dahegaon mandal. Police seized five mobile phones and Rs 65,270 in cash. The accused were luring the public with promises of high returns through Rs 1,000 tokens and posting betting details on social media.

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Five persons were arrested by sleuths of a task force for allegedly organising banned online betting on the outskirts of Ainam village in Dahegaon mandal on Thursday. Police seized five mobile phones and Rs 65,270 in cash from them.
Task force Inspector Rana Prathap said that Perugu Vinod, Gomasa Haridas, Jummidi Sampath, Kondagorla Nagender and Durgam Venkatesh, all from the village were apprehended while committing the offence, following a tip-off. The arrested persons were handed over to Dahegaon police for further action.
Police said that the five were duping the public by promising to pay higher returns if they bought tokens valued at Rs 1,000 each. They stated that the accused persons were posting details of the betting on social media platforms and were targeting online users. They warned that stringent action would be initiated against those who were involved in online betting.
