Mancherial: Five persons were arrested for allegedly peddling and smuggling ganja on the outskirts of Madaram village in Thandur mandal on Thursday. Police seized 1.1 kilograms of ganja, a motorcycle and four mobile phones were from them.
Briefing details of the arrests to pressmen, Bellampalli ACP Ravi Kumar said that Shaik Hasam, Gorlapalli Sandeep, Bandari Shyam, all from Thandur mandal, and Vijay Haldar and Rajkumar Sarkar, both belonging to Easgaon village in Kagaznagar mandal were apprehended while peddling ganja to potential buyers and smuggling it, following a tip-off.
Inspector Kumara Swamy, Madaram Sub-Inspector Soujanya and Thandur Sub-Inspector Kiran Kumar were present.
