Five-member gang held for dacoity in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The West Zone Task Force arrested a five-member dacoity gang and recovered three bikes, blades, mobile phones and other material here on Friday. The gang was involved in a dacoity in Banjara Hills and an attempt to murder in Chaderghat, police said.
The arrested persons were Syed Afroz Ali, the kingpin from Mallapur, Abdul Ghouse from Azampura, Syed Jeelani from Chanchalguda, Mohd Arbaz from Chanchalguda and Mohd Mustaqeem Khan from Ramnagar. According to the police, the gang members were close friends and addicted to drugs and alcohol and committed robberies and extortions from pedestrians on secluded roads. They sprinkled chilli powder on the victims and robbed them at knifepoint.
Recently, they were involved in a robbery and attempt to murder case at Banjara Hills and were arrested by the Chaderghat police, when they were moving suspiciously near the Malakpet railway station. They were handed over to the Banjara Hills police for further action.
