Mulugu: Mulugu Forest officials have apprehended five Gothi Koyas (Guttikoyas) from Lingala village in connection with the recent killing of a tigress in Tadvai forests.

The Forest officials, who received credible information on Tuesday night, about the persons allegedly involved in the tigress killing, conducted a cordon and search operation led by Forest Divisional Officer (FDO), Tadvai, Shiv Aasheesh Singh. The five accused were identified as Madakam Ramu, Muchaki Andha, Madakam Sathish, Kovasi Iduma and Muchaki Rajkumar of Chintala Katapur village.

The Tadvai police had already arrested four poachers of Kodishala Gothi Koya Gumpu (settlement) of Tadvai mandal on October 3, and seized the tigress skin, skeletal remains, nails and snares used to trap the big cat from the accused.
