Five persons held for selling duplicate cigarettes in Hyderabad

The five persons were sourcing duplicate cigarettes of Gold Flake brand and other banned cigarettes from different States and selling it in the market

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (east) team caught five persons who were allegedly selling duplicate cigarettes in city. The police seized property worth Rs. 10 lakh at their instance.

Acting on a tip off, the Task Force team caught Raju Yadav (24), Mohammed Akbar (34), Mohd Faisal (30), Mohd Afzal (33) and Mohd Shakeel (55).

The five persons were sourcing duplicate cigarettes of Gold Flake brand and other banned cigarettes from different States and selling it in the market. The police conducted raids at Malakpet, Madannapet and Shahalibanda.

The police seized duplicate Gold Flake cigarettes, and banned cigarettes such as Paris, Win, Esse, Don and Peacock which are illegally supplied in the market and using it is injurious to health, said Additional DCP Task Force, A Srinivasa Rao.
