Hyderabad: In Juniors category of 231st Brilliant Trophy Chess Tournament, five players – Shabbir Ahmed, Prasidh Ambati, Abhinandana, Sharika Tunki and Sri Samanvith are in joint lead with three points from three rounds, while Kenith Urla, R.Manotej, Sathya Karthikeya and Dhanush Raj are in second spot with 2.5 points out of three rounds, here at Brilliant Grammar High school (Dilsukhnagar) here on Saturday.

In the Open category, three players – Ritesh Maddukuri, Shanmukha Pulli and Pramodh kumar Reddy are in joint lead with three points from three rounds, while Rama Anjaneyulu, Sai Anshita, Sri Pratik, Varshith, Nigama Sree and Salman are in second spot with 2.5 points from three rounds.


Important results: 3rd round: Juniors: Shabbir Ahmed (3) bt Eshwar (2); Sahasra (2) lost to Prasidh Ambati (3); Venkata Chetan Reddy (2) lost to Abhinandana (3); B. Advaitha (2) lost to Sharika Tunki (3); K.
Arjun (2) lost to Sri Samanvith (3).

Open category: Krishna Kalyan (2) lost to Ritesh Maddukuri (3); Rama Anjaneyulu (2.5) drew with P. Sai Anshita (2.5); V. Raju (2) lost to Shanmukha Pulli (3); Gade Vishal (2) lost to Pramodh Kumar (3);
Varshith (2.5) drew with Nigama Sree (2.5).
