Hyderabad: Five more international passengers who had arrived at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Shamshabad from at-risk and non at-risk countries tested positive for Omicron variant, Director of Public Health (DPH), Dr G Srinivasa Rao on Thursday said. With this, the total number of Omicron positive infections among international passengers and their close contacts has reached 67 in Telangana.
A total of 4 Omicron positive patients at TIMS have also recovered on Thursday, taking the total number of recoveries among Omicron positive infections in Telangana to 22.
On Thursday, about 143 international passengers were screened and underwent RT-PCR tests at RGIA, Shamshabad out of which 4 have tested Covid-19 positive. So far, the genome sequencing results of 20 Covid positive international travellers, including the 4 positive flyers who had tested positive on Thursday, are awaited.
