Flyovers in Hyderabad to be closed on New Year’s Eve

Traffic will not be allowed on NTR Marg, Necklace Road and Upper Tank Bund from 10pm on Thursday up to 2am on Friday.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police said all the flyovers in the city except the Begumpet flyover would remain closed for traffic from Thursday night to the wee hours of Friday. The police have placed certain restrictions around Hussain Sagar as well.

Traffic will not be allowed on NTR Marg, Necklace Road and Upper Tank Bund from 10pm on Thursday up to 2am on Friday.


Accordingly, traffic from VV Statue towards Necklace Road and NTR Marg will be diverted towards Khairatabad and Raj Bhavan Road and traffic from BRK Bhavan towards NTR Marg will be diverted at the Telugu Talli Junction towards Iqbal Minar, Lakdikapul. Likewise, vehicles will not be allowed towards Upper Tank Bund, hence commuters should take left at Ambedkar Statue, Telugu Talli, Iqbal Minar, Ravindra Bharathi and other alternate roads.

Vehicles from Khairatabad Market towards Necklace Rotary will be diverted towards Sensation Theatre, Rajdoot lane and Lakdikapul while the Mint Compound lane adjacent to Secretariat will be closed for traffic. Officials said traffic from Nallagutta Railway Bridge will not be allowed towards Sanjeevaiah Park and Necklace Road and will be diverted towards Karbala Maidan or Minister Road.

Likewise, traffic from Secunderabad will be diverted at the Sailing Club towards Kavadiguda crossroads, Lower Tank Bund, Kattamaisamma Temple and Ashok Nagar to RTC crossroads. Private buses, trucks and other heavy vehicles will not be allowed in the city limits till 2 am on Friday.

The Traffic Police will take up extensive checking to curb traffic violations in this regard.
