Hyderabad: As part of Covid outpatient (OP) services in 1,245 government healthcare facilities across Telangana, health authorities have screened 1,41,714 individuals and identified 19,099 persons with Covid-like symptoms and initiated treatment and distributed special Covid kits.
In the door-to-door fever survey, about 20,955 medical teams covered 11,22,369 households and identified persons with Covid symptoms and distributed Covid kits.
“We are focusing on providing treatment first so that hospitalisation and deaths will reduce in the State. In addition to distributing kits, our healthcare workers will contact and follow-up with individuals identified with Covid symptoms for the next two weeks,” Director of Public Health (DPH) Dr G Srinivasa Rao said.
The senior health official also urged general public, especially those who do not have any health problems, not to demand Covid kits from field level workers. “The kits have been specially designed for persons with Covid symptoms and not meant for stocking,” he said.
