Football: SBI Hyderabad storms into semis with 4-0 win over Patna

SBI Hyderabad Circle booked a semi-final berth in the All India SBI Inter-Circle Football Tournament with a commanding 4-0 victory over SBI Patna Circle in Bhubaneswar, registering its third consecutive win in the competition.

Hyderabad: State Bank of India (Hyderabad Circle) registered it’s third win when it defeated SBI Patna Circle 4-0 and qualified for the semi-final of the All India SBI Inter-circle football tournament at Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

In the first half, Zaki Raza opened the scoring for Hyderabad a calculated cross from Sainath Reddy In the opening minutes of the second half, Mohd Qizar, former international player, struck an outstanding long-range shot to extend the lead to 2–0.


Later, R. Anand Kumar, former international player, calmly converted a penalty to make it 3–0. The fourth goal was scored by Mohd. Shabuddin, sealing a comprehensive victory for Hyderabad.
Mohd. Shabuddin Siddiqui was adjudged the ‘Player of the Match’ for his impressive performance.

SBI Hyderabad Circle will take on SBI Guwahati Circle.

The other semifinal will be contested between SBI Kolkata Circle and SBI Kerala Circle.
