Forest fire erupt near Farahabad checkpost as Saleshwaram jathara concludes
A fire broke out near the Farahabad checkpost in Turkapally beat under Amrabad Tiger Reserve on Friday night, close to the conclusion of the Saleshwaram jathara. Thousands of devotees were returning after visiting the Lord Shiva temple when the blaze erupted about 700 metres from the main road.
Nagarkurnool: A major fire erupted near Farahabad checkpost in Turkapally beat under Amrabad Tiger Reserve limits on Friday night. The forest fire was about 700 metres away from the Farahabad main road in the tiger reserve limits.
Thousands of people were returning to their destinations after having darshan at the Lord Shiva temple inside the forest as part of the Saleshwaram jathara. The jathara concluded on Friday night.
Forest officials claimed there were no untoward incidents and stated that the forest fire was extinguished immediately. The fire erupted around 8 pm after forest officials directed vehicle owners and devotees to leave the forest.
