Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Forest officials drew flak for reportedly abducting a farmer and leaving his wife alone in the forest without prior notice at Dimda village in Chintalamanepalli mandal on Thursday.
Former Sirpur (T) MLA Koneru Konappa alleged that the officials abducted Dage Suresh when he was on his way to Chintalamanepalli mandal headquarters by intercepting his motorbike. They abandoned Suresh’s wife in the dense forest, where she was prone to wild animal attacks. The officials then took Suresh to a secret place.
Responding to the incident, Konappa slammed the officials for their act. He said it was unfair to indulge in such acts against the farmers. He demanded district in-charge minister Jupally Krishna Rao to take action against the officials immediately. He opined that people would revolt against the officials if they continued to harass the farmers.
He accused the officials of manhandling Suresh under the guise of investigation by forcing him to get into a jeep of the department. He wanted immediate release of the farmer. He asked the officials to take action as per law if he had committed an offence. He maintained that it was an inhuman act by the officials.
The forest officials have not responded to the allegations so far.
