Forest staff rescue deer injured by hunting traps in Kothagudem

Forest staff rescued an injured deer after it fell into wire traps allegedly set by hunters in the Madharam forest area of Mulakalapalli mandal in Kothagudem. The deer was taken to the Government Veterinary Hospital at Paloncha for treatment.

Kothagudem: Forest staff rescued a deer that was injured after falling into wire traps allegedly set up by hunters to kill wild animals in the Madharam forest area in Mulakalapalli mandal in the district on Tuesday.

According to sources, Forest Section Officer Veera Swamy, beat officers Appa Rao and Mangi Lal found the injured deer crossing the road while they were going to attend to their duties. They immediately rescued the deer and took it to the Government Veterinary Hospital at Paloncha in a four-wheeler.

However, they had to wait for about one hour for the animal to receive treatment as the veterinary doctor was not available. The forest officials appreciated the timely response of the staff in rescuing the injured deer.
