Formation of Hanamkonda, Warangal districts: 133 objections and suggestions received
The State government on July 12 issued a preliminary notification for the formation/reorganisation of Warangal Urban and Warangal Rural districts into Hanamkonda and Warangal districts.

Warangal Urban: A total of 133 objections and suggestions over the reorganisation/renaming of Warangal Urban and Warangal Rural districts have been received from the people of both the districts. While 41 suggestions/objections were from Warangal Rural district’s people, 92 suggestions/objections were from the people of Warangal Urban district.
The State government on July 12 issued a preliminary notification for the formation/reorganisation of Warangal Urban and Warangal Rural districts into Hanamkonda and Warangal districts. Revenue Department (District Administration) issued a Government Order to this effect.
It was proposed that Warangal district with an area of 2027.89 sq.km, with a population of 9,63,975 and Hanamakonda district with an area of 1466.23 sq. km, would be formed.
While the proposed Hanamkonda will consist of Hanamkonda and Parkal Revenue Divisions, Warangal will comprise Narsampet and Warangal Revenue Divisions. The proposed Hanamkonda district will have 12 mandals – Hanamkonda, Khazipet, lnavolu, Hasanparthy, Velair, Dharmasagar, Elkathurthy, Bheemadevarapalli, Parkal, Kamalapur, Nadikuda, and Damera.
The government asked the people to submit their objections/suggestions from the two districts on the proposal issued by the government on changing the names of districts and changing mandals and additions giving 30 days’ time.
In view of this, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Tribal, Women and Child Welfare Minister Satyavati Rathod, Government Chief Whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, MLA Challa Dharmareddy, Warangal Urban District ZP Chairman Sudhir Kumar, Warangal District and Rural District Collectors Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu and M Haritha and others held a review meeting here on Wednesday to look into the objections/suggestions. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that objections/suggestions would be taken into consideration before taking a final decision.
