Former BRS MLA Rohith Reddy, TDP MP Mahesh Kumar among six testing positive for drugs
Telangana police’s EAGLE team raided a farmhouse belonging to former BRS MLA Rohith Reddy, apprehending 11 people, including TDP MP Mahesh Kumar. Six tested positive for drugs, cocaine and a revolver were seized, and a case was registered at Moinabad police station.

Hyderabad: The EAGLE team of the Telangana police, along with Moinabad police, on Saturday night conducted a raid at a farmhouse belonging to BRS former MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy, and apprehended him along with Telugu Desam Party MP, Putta Mahesh Kumar, and nine more persons for allegedly consuming drugs.
The police, however, later confirmed that only six persons had tested positive for drug consumption, and the remaining five persons tested negative. The police reportedly seized 26 grams of cocaine, liquor bottles, 0.32 revolver, and live cartridges.
A case is booked under various Sections of NPDS Act, Arms Act and the BNS Act at Moinabad police station. While Mahesh Kumar and a woman were granted bail in the case and released, the remaining persons were produced before a magistrate.
R Giridhar, Superintendent of Police, EAGLE Team, said a blood test was conducted at a government hospital on all 11 persons and Mahesh Kumar, Rohith Reddy, Namith Sharma, P Ritesh Kumar, Koushik Ravi and T Arjun Reddy tested positive for using drugs.
During the raid, the police were reportedly fired upon by Namith Singh, a politician from New Delhi who had joined the group at the farmhouse.
