Former CBI director and Nagaland Governor ends life in Shimla
Ashwani Kumar, a retired IPS officer had also served as the Director General of Police of Himachal Pradesh, from August 2006 to July 2008.

Hyderabad: Former Governor of Nagaland and former Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Ashwani Kumar allegedly committed suicide by hanging in his house in Shimla, according to reports reaching here on Wednesday. He was believed to be suffering from depression for sometime, a senior IPS officer disclosed here.
Ashwani Kumar, a retired IPS officer had also served as the Director General of Police of Himachal Pradesh, from August 2006 to July 2008. He later joined the CBI as its Director in August 2008 and served the premier investigative agency till 2010.
Shima police have confirmed the news about the suicide of a senior most IPS officer.
